Hydrogen Logistics Network Design for Universal Hydrogen

Problem?

Universal Hydrogen seeks to establish a hydrogen logistics network to fuel the future of aviation. The company's modular hydrogen capsules move over the existing freight network, transporting hydrogen from production directly to airplanes worldwide. With this vision, UH2 aimed to identify the key factors for an optimal hydrogen supply network design, with a specific focus on the EU. Universal Hydrogen wanted to evaluate the supply of LH2 and determine the necessary deployment of capsules to scale the network effectively.

Solution

Persee, with expertise in the design of liquid hydrogen supply chains since 2015, provided its knowledge and the tedHy tool to expedite the analysis of potential network deployments. This collaboration aimed to further qualify the transportation options within a pragmatic approach. The analysis eventually helped to identify the technical requirements for the capsules and determine the most favorable routes during the initial phases of the network expansion.
